CECU Statement on the AHEAD Accountability Rulemaking Reaching Consensus
Arlington, VA – CECU’s Senior Vice President of Legislative and Regulatory Affairs, Jordan Wicker, issued the following statement regarding the AHEAD negotiated rulemaking committee reaching consensus on proposed accountability regulations:
“We commend the negotiators representing proprietary institutions for their leadership throughout the process, including raising key considerations and proposals important to the sector. The Department and negotiators worked together to make several improvements to the current Biden Gainful Employment regulations, including implementation of equal accountability standards for all sectors of higher education, an issue on which CECU has long led the national debate. The proposed framework is a strong starting point, and as this rulemaking progresses, we look forward to working with the Department to enhance the proposed rule.”
