On December 21, 2020, Congress reached a deal and passed a $900 billion coronavirus relief and $1.4 trillion omnibus appropriations package (H.R. 133) to fund the government through September 2021 and provide additional COVID-19 aid. On December 27, President Trump signed the bill into law. After reviewing the 5,593-page bill and supporting documents, CECU can now provide a high-level overview of the bill and sections of importance to postsecondary career schools. For example, additional HEERF funding set aside for the students you serve, changes to the FAFSA, Pell Grant formula simplification and increases, second round of Paycheck Protection Program, and other items.
