CECU Report on CARES Act Funding and Student Success
In December 2020, CECU partnered with Hanover Research to conduct a survey of career and technical college leaders inquiring about their experience with CARES Act HEERF funds. In this presentation, Dr. Amy Kurfist, a Research Advisor from Hanover’s Higher Education Research Advisory Team, will present the results of the survey with topics including HEERF fund usage; the impact of HEERF funds on aspects of instruction, student experience, and student success; and the effect of HEERF funds on distance education. Dr. Kurfist will also provide a high-level overview of the findings of in-depth interviews conducted by Hanover in September 2020 aimed at uncovering the experiences with and best practices for distance education at career and technical colleges. CECU’s Senior Vice President of Policy and Research Nicholas Kent will describe how the findings are informing the association’s advocacy efforts with policymakers.
