The Center for Excellence in Higher Education, Inc. (CEHE), a nonprofit group of colleges and CECU member organization, has announced that they will launch a $1 million grant program in support of displaced ITT Tech students who want to continue their education. “Our job is to help students – and actions speak louder than words. That’s why we’re offering $1 million dollars in grants to help ITT students,” said Eric Juhlin, CEO of CEHE. “We challenge other schools and community colleges to step up and offer similar grants to ITT students.”
More than 40,000 students were enrolled at ITT, and now must seek other options for continuing their education. This comes just two weeks after the U.S. Department of Education disallowed the institution from enrolling students using federal financial aid, among other sanctions. CEHE’s grant helps those students find alternate paths to building a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities. CEHE will offer a maximum of $4,000 per student to enroll in one of their colleges to complete their degree.
