Day 2 of the Committee Markup of H.R. 4674, the College Affordability Act Day 2 of the Committee markup included amendments by Republicans to include the proprietary sector in short-term Pell; a delay on the implementation of the College Affordability Act until the ED Secretary, in consultation with the VA and DoD Secretaries, certifies that the bill will not impact military preparedness or limit veterans’ access in higher education; and a repeal of gainful employment. Dr. Foxx (R-NC) also entered into the record a letter signed by over 100 veterans involved with Veterans for Career Education (VCE). Report Finds That 36 Million Americans Have Some College But No Degree – NASFAA Most researchers agree that college is one of the best methods of career advancement and a step toward financial stability.
