March 5, 2018 - Arlington, VA - The nation’s Post-secondary Career Colleges were again recognized for the quality of their graduates at this year’s Oscar Awards! The recognition follows similar achievement at the 2018 Grammy Awards. Full Sail University graduate Gary A. Rizzo received an Oscar in the category of “Best Sound Mixing” for the film Dunkirk. Rizzo is a 1993 recording arts degree program graduate. In receiving the award on Sunday evening he did a shout-out to the quality of Full Sail University’s educational programs.
This follows the Grammy Awards presented on January 28 in New York City, where Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL had a total of 17 graduates credited on 11 of the winning projects, in roles ranging from engineering and production to composition and mixing. Steve Gunderson, president of CECU hailed these recent achievements. “At a time when our nation seeks high quality outcomes, the recent performances of Full Sail University graduates showcase the commitment to education excellence in our nation’s postsecondary career colleges and universities.” Gunderson went on to say these achievements reflect the sector’s over-all commitment to quality education leading to successful professionals. Gunderson also pointed out that Full Sail is one of many such colleges engaged in the arts and design technology sector.
