Pima Medical Institute Celebrates its more than 13,000 Albuquerque Alumni with Multi-Campus Event
Nearly 500 people gathered at Pima Medical Institute’s Albuquerque campus to celebrate alumni from both the Albuquerque and Albuquerque West-Rio Rancho locations. Serving the Albuquerque community since 1985, the two campuses celebrated quite a milestone – more than 13,000 graduates!
 
Heat move camp to Keiser University in West Palm – Sun Sentinel
The difference this time is instead of spending the first week of October in Boca Raton at Florida Atlantic University, as has been the case the past two years, the Heat will move up to West Palm Beach for sessions at Keiser University.

GAO: More Than Half of Student Parents Drop Out, Data Is Lacking on the Program That Helps Them – NASFAA
GAO found that in 2015-16, 22% of undergraduates (4.3 million students) had children, and of those, 55% were single parents, 44% worked full-time while enrolled, and 64% were enrolled part-time.

A damning report from the Century Foundation calls into question the continuing use of for-profit companies to deliver online courses in public institutions, referring to the companies as “wolves in sheep’s clothing.”
 
The skills gap grew by 12% last year, survey says – HR Dive
The skills gap grew by 12% last year, according to a survey of 600 HR leaders by Wiley Education Services and Future Workplace. Nearly two-thirds of HR leaders reported a skills gap in their organizations, up from 52% in 2018.
