October 18, 2016 – Washington, DC – The below statement can be attributed to CECU president and CEO Steve Gunderson following actions by the U.S. Department of Education that forced the shutdown of Career Point College:
![]() After retiring from the military after 20 years of service, Chad Littler decided to follow his dream of driving a tractor trailer to see the country. To accomplish this goal, he turned to National Tractor Trailer School. Chad enrolled in NTTS’s 602 hour, PTDI Certified Advanced Commercial Driver Course. To complete his training, he drove 80 miles every day for 18 weeks, and successfully graduated from the program in June 2015. He is now employed by Gypsum Express of Baldwinsville, NY. October 7, 2016, Washington, DC – This month the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that 7.9 million Americans are unemployed, while at the same time 5.9 million jobs remain unfilled in America. This crisis exists because employers demand "job-ready" employees and prospective employees are simply not able to bridge the skills gap without appropriate career education and training.
