CECU Committees and Task Forces
Allied Membership CommitteeThe Allied Membership Committee advises the association on membership policies, including the code of conduct that Allied Members must accept as a condition of membership. The committee oversees the design and delivery of programs related to the recruitment and retention of Allied Members.
Audit CommitteeThe Audit Committee, a committee of the CECU Board of Directors, assists the board in fulfilling its responsibilities and performs specific duties as set forth in its charter.
Executive CommitteeThe Executive Committee, a committee of the CECU Board of Directors, assists the board in fulfilling its responsibilities and performs specific duties as set forth in its charter. When it is impractical to convene the board, the Executive Committee may exercise the powers of the board on matters requiring immediate attention, but as a rule it should not set policy.
Federal Regulatory Committee
The Federal Regulatory Committee works with the professional staff of the association and with contracted consultants in developing policies and regulatory proposals on matters before the regulatory agencies.
Litigation CommitteeThe Litigation Committee works with the professional staff of the association and with outside counsel, as applicable, in determining legal and policy strategies on matters requiring the association to engage in litigation.
Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee, a committee of the CECU Board of Directors, assists the board in recommending nominees for all elected board positions and for the selection of nominees for the public members of the board.
State Affairs Committee
The State Affairs Committee supports CECU in advancing the public policy interests of private sector colleges and universities. It partners with state associations, member institutions, and other interested parties to address state public policy issues of interest to private sector institutions and students.

Annual Convention Task ForceThe Task Force works with professional staff in selecting the theme for the convention and the structure, design, and delivery of the annual convention program.
Communications CommitteeThe Communications Committee supports CECU in advancing the image and awareness of the sector, specifically in providing students with education and skills that achieve improved jobs, incomes, and quality of life.
CECUPAC CommitteeThe Career Education Colleges and Universities’ Political Action Committee (CECUPAC) advances CECU’s mission by engaging our members and the broader sector in supporting candidates for federal office who believe in the role of private sector colleges and universities in fostering the education and professional outcomes of our students.
Federal Legislative Committee
The Federal Legislative Committee supports CECU in advancing public policies that benefit private sector colleges and universities, specifically in the development of policies, legislative proposals, and political strategies on matters before the Congress or the administration affecting our sector.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee, a committee of the CECU Board of Directors, assists the board in conducting its fiduciary responsibilities, managing both the development of the annual budget and oversight throughout the year of the association’s finances.
Membership Engagement CommitteeThe Membership Engagement Committee supports CECU in the recruitment, engagement, retention, and advocacy efforts of members. The Committee shall advise the association on membership policies, including the Code of Conduct, which must be accepted as a condition of membership; and oversees the design and delivery of programs related to the recruitment and retention of members.
Professional Development & Academic Excellence Committee
The Professional Development and Academic Excellence Committee supports the Career Education Colleges and Universities (CECU) and our members by providing high quality professional development programing relating to both professional development and academic programming that enhances the individual and collective success of member institutions and their students.
