Blue Ribbon Task Force for Military and Veteran Education

The Blue Ribbon Task Force was created with the mission of ensuring that all service members, veterans, or family members who use their earned education benefits receive the high-quality education they deserve at every institution of higher education. The goal of the task force is to develop a series of best practices for veterans education for APSCU schools as well as all postsecondary institutions.

The task force includes the following institutional and organizational military and veterans education representatives from APSCU, non-APSCU, and veteran service organizations:

Combined with the expertise and knowledge of those representing the military and veterans education communities, the task force will provide unique insight and practices to allow other institutions to implement similar policies to improve their military and veterans education programs in areas such as appropriate marketing and recruitment, educational benefits, student support services and mentoring, academic counseling, and placement services.

PSCUs open doors to many of the 9 million unemployed and 90 million undereducated Americans by providing a skills-based education. To remain competitive over the next decade, we must identify between 8 and 23 million new workers with postsecondary skills. PSCUs are a necessary part of that solution, having produced over 800,000 degrees last year alone.
