Lincoln Tech Institute Gives Student Mechanics Chance to Shine

Lincoln Tech Scholarship Recipients

Lincoln Technical Institute in Whitestone, N.Y. hosted its Fifth Annual Mother's Day BBQ and Auto Show on Saturday, May 11. The event was open to the public and featured cars that students and their friends had customized and modified. The event also featured Dyno demonstrations (which measure horsepower), roses for mothers, face-painting for children, and a barbeque.

Cars competed to win one of the following titles: Best of Show, Best Import, Best Domestic, and Best Car Sound.

The event took place inside Lincoln Tech's auto shop. The space contains 14 work bays and shares space with the Greater New York Auto Dealers Association (GNYADA). The program is known for placing its graduates with some of the top auto dealers in the world, including BMW and Volkswagen.

Scholarships were also awarded to five graduating high school students entering Lincoln Technical Institute's automotive program. Full tuition was awarded to three students, and half tuition was awarded to two students.
