Private sector schools remain one of the most highly regulated sectors in all of higher education—yet they continue to innovate and to invest in building capacity to effectively educate a workforce that will enhance U.S. competitiveness, and ultimately, our nation’s bottom line.
Our knowledge center provides resources to inform and educate the general public about the critical role that private sector colleges and universities (PSCUs) in helping American workers and our economy and the unique value proposition that our schools present.
PSCUs open doors to many of the 13 million unemployed and 90 million underemployed Americans by providing a skills-based education. To remain competitive over the next decade, we must identify between 8 and 23 million new workers with postsecondary skills.PSCUs are a necessary part of that solution, having produced over 800,000 degrees last year alone.
