Brian Moran currently serves as the Executive Vice President
for Government Relations and General Counsel of the Association of
Private Sector Colleges and Universities (APSCU), formerly the Career
College Association (CCA). Moran assumed the position of
Interim President and CEO in June 2011, and led the
organization through January 2012. He joined APSCU as the Executive Vice
President for Government Relations and General Counsel in October of
2009.
Moran became a faculty member for the inaugural Business LEADs
Network Institute on Postsecondary Education for the US Chamber of
Commerce in Washington, DC on June 2, 2011.
Prior to joining APSCU, Moran was a member of the state legislature
for 12 years, where he was elected to serve as the minority caucus
leader. For his various efforts on legislative advocacy and leadership,
Moran has been recognized by the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, the
Northern Virginia Technology Council, VA Sheriff’s Association,
Mothers Against Drunk Driving, VA League of Conservation Voters, and the
VA PTA.
Before his election, Moran served as senior prosecutor in Arlington,
Virginia. While a member of the legislature he owned and operated a
12-person general practice law firm in Northern Virginia.
Moran has a BA from Framingham State University and a J.D. from
Catholic University School of Law in Washington, DC and attended Suffolk
University in Boston for study towards a Masters in Public
Administration. During law school, Moran worked for the House of
Representatives Economic Stabilization Subcommittee.
After law school he clerked for the Arlington County, Virginia
Circuit Court judges, before becoming an Assistant County Prosecutor in
Arlington. He also served as a visiting instructor at The National
College of District Attorneys.
Moran is married and has two children and resides in Alexandria,
Virginia. He serves on a number of nonprofit boards including the
Hispanic College Fund and remains very active in his community.
