Rene ChampagneRene R. Champagne

Rene Champagne is the retired former Chairman and CEO of ITT Educational Services, Inc.  He stepped down as CEO after serving 21 years in that capacity and retired as Chairman of the Board in January 2008.  As of July 1, 2008, Rene was appointed Chairman of the Career College Association's board of directors.

Prior to joining ITT Educational Services in 1985, Rene had been affiliated with a private pharmaceutical firm for several years.  He also spent 17 years with Colgate Palmolive rising from a management trainee position to eventually heading a subsidiary as CEO.  Rene is a veteran of the Vietnam War having served as a U.S. Naval officer aboard a destroyer in Southeast Asia waters.  He is a 1963 graduate of the University of Connecticut.  In 2006, Rene received the Imagine America Foundation's Pioneer Award for his contributions to the career college sector.  He previously served on the CCA board from 1996 to 2001 and rejoined the CCA board in 2007.

Currently Rene and his wife, Tish, split their home life between Marco Island, Florida during the winter and Indianapolis, Indiana in the summer months.
