Arthur Benjamin
American Institutes Holdings, Inc., LLC
CEO & Vice Chairman
Internationally Recognized Educator,
Corporate CEO, Philanthropist and Animal Rights Activist
Arthur E. Benjamin has been dedicating himself to education and animal
rights activism for the past three decades. As Vice Chairman/CEO of ATI
Enterprises, his educational activities impact 24 career colleges in
five states. These undergraduate schools of vocational-technical
learning employ 2,500 staff members and help secure well-paying jobs for
a student body of more than 19,000. Meanwhile, as an advocate for the
humane treatment of animals, Arthur's philanthropy has had an equally
significant impact on the lives of hundreds of thousands of animals,
both domesticated and living in the wild.
The Mission
Arthur Benjamin passionately supports education, animal welfare and
breast cancer advocacy organizations, and endeavors to save lives,
empower others and ensure quality care for all living beings. He is
equally passionate about nurturing the involvement of individuals and
accredited nonprofits that use the highest percentage of funds to
actively champion these causes.
To that end, his newest launched 501(c)3 foundation - Animal Dog
Rescue - is an all-volunteer organization for which Arthur
underwrites administrative costs. All proceeds go to animal welfare and
projects that save and protect animals.
Arthur supports a number of postsecondary-education organizations
that secure a better, brighter future for people looking to change their
lives with a new career. These schools, spread throughout the country,
promote workforce development and high-quality adult education.
Also, Arthur backs breast cancer research and recovery by providing
no-cost healing retreats for women diagnosed with the disease. The aim
of his efforts is to help patients reclaim their sense of personal power
and to strengthen them in their journey toward healing.
Arthur's dedication to and compassion for helping others succeed also
manifests itself through the Gail L. and Arthur E. Benjamin Foundation,
a non-profit organization that helps other foundations start and
grow.
The Scope
Arthur maintains his domicile in Delray Beach, FL and resides in two
additional cities: Dallas, TX and Salt Lake City, UT. While very
involved in specific issues impacting his home states, Arthur's activism
and philanthropic endeavors support rescue, education and advocacy on a
national and global basis.
The Inspiration
Long an acolyte of the deceased Buckminster Fuller, Arthur first met his
life-long mentor at Fuller's Burklyn School in California. Buckminster
Fuller was an esteemed American architect, inventor, futurist,
philosopher, author and educator. Awarded the Presidential Medal of
Freedom by Ronald Reagan in 1983, he viewed our time on earth as an
opportunity to see how much each of us could change the world for the
benefit of current and future generations. Arthur was inspired by
Buckminster Fuller to devote his life to creating opportunity through
education while using his resources to promote the welfare of humans,
animals and the environment. To date, he has contributed millions of
dollars to nonprofit endeavors. But beyond that, he has inspired
thousands of others to give, get involved, and use their passion to move
mountains.
The Means
Arthur is a born entrepreneur who has enjoyed success in sales,
advertising, database marketing and career college administration. This
success has afforded him the means to pursue his passion for rolling
that wealth back into society for the good of humankind and animal kind.
Wearing the cap of educator, Arthur is the former Commissioner of the
Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), and
current board member of both the Florida Association of Postsecondary
Schools and Colleges (FAPSC) and the Career College Association (CCA),
where he co-chairs CCA PAC. He was also a trustee of the Career College
Foundation, now the Imagine America Foundation. Meanwhile, wearing the
mantel of animal rights activist, he is the founder and president of
American Dog Rescue and sits on the advisory committees of No More
Homeless Pets, Best Friends, Utah Animal Adoption Center and Paws in the
City (Dallas). He has underwritten countless rescue missions and
sponsored dozens of fundraisers that have raised multimillions to
promote both animal and human welfare.
The Belief
Arthur believes, and lives each and every day as his last one, as George
Bernard Shaw wrote, "that my life belongs to the whole community and
that as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I
want to be thoroughly used up when I die. For the harder I work, the
more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle
to me. There's a sort of splendid torch which I've got hold of for the
moment and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing
it on to future generations." He further believes that The True Joy of
Life is exactly as Shaw described it "Being used by yourself for a
purpose you declare is a mighty one."
