Speaking

You are invited to get involved!  Let us know if you would like to be considered for a speaking opportunity at the CCA Convention or workshop.  We are always looking for avenues that provide opportunities for our members to share their expertise.

Please take a moment and let us know what your area of interest is by providing an overview of the proposed program.  If you have questions, or need additional information, contact Monty Cox at montyc@career.org.

Check back in November for 2010 CCA Annual Convention Session Proposal Forms.

Webinars

Plans are currently underway to build upon the success of the 2008-2009 series of CCA Professional Development Webinars and we are looking for presenters with innovative topic ideas.  The CCA professional development committee is now accepting proposals for webinars focusing chiefly on retention, placement, and faculty development as well as any “hot topics” with relevant value to our school members.

Some of our most popular webinars from the 2008-2009 series included:

  • Evolving Placement Strategies for a Challenging Economy, Kay Eilers, Associate Director of Career Services, Herzing University Online
  • Teaching Methods to Enhance Student Life-long Learning, Deborah Jones, Vice Provost – Curriculum, Anthem Education Group
  • What's New with the GI Bill?, Terry Howell, Managing Editor for Education and Benefits, Military.com
  • Running on Empty - Realities and Perceptions of Student Retention, Janet Mug, CEO, Student Resource Services and Maryse Levy, Vice President, Education Affiliates
  • Teach Less, Retain More, Lou Russell, CEO, L+EARN and Russell Martin & Associates
  • Generating and Converting Internet Leads, Greg Gragg, President, Gragg Advertising
  • Conducting an Admissions Interview over the Telephone, Dr. Jean Norris, Managing Partner, Norton Norris, Inc.

Prospective presenters should be mindful that webinar topics will need to be covered in one hour, including time for Q&A. All webinars will continue to be FREE to CCA members. Legislative update webinars will continue to be covered by the CCA Government Relations Department on an “as-needed” basis. Professional Development Webinars will be offered approximately once every month.

If you would like to submit a webinar proposal for consideration, please email a short descriptive paragraph along with the PowerPoint slides, if available, with full contact information, to CCA Program Manager, Monty Cox, at montyc@career.org.
