Compliance Webinar
Friday May 8, 2009 at 2 PM ET
Promoting an organizational culture that encourages a commitment to
compliance with the law and ethical conduct by exercising due diligence
in meeting the criteria of all applicable rules shows a company is
committed to operating at the highest levels of integrity.
Effective and comprehensive compliance programs demonstrate to students,
employers, employees, governing bodies, and the general public that a
company operates in a culture of ethics and responsibility. This is
particularly important in the higher education sector that is so heavily
regulated by the Federal and state governments and various accrediting
bodies.
An effective corporate compliance policy should minimize the
possibility of any employees acting in a way that is not compliant with
the law. In addition, if your college or company is the subject of
an investigation and aberrant actions are discovered, an effective
corporate compliance program may result in a decision not to pursue
criminal charges. In order to have an effective program as defined
by the Sentencing Commission guidelines, your organization must
demonstrate that it has made a good faith effort to fulfill the
requirements and also promoted in other ways "an organizational culture
that encourages ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with the
law."
CCA continues to take an active role in helping our members develop
and maintain robust compliance programs. As the next step in this
process, we will be hosting a two-part webinar on the basics of
corporate compliance programs. Join us on Friday, May 8,
2009 at 2:00 pm ET when Rene Champagne of ITT Educational
Services, Inc. and Chairman of CCA’s Board of Directors, presents
the first part of this important subject. Rene will discuss why it is
important to have a compliance program and the basics behind an
effective corporate compliance program.
