Academic Excellence Committee The Academic Excellence Committee participates in the national academic dialogue by advancing the work of PSCUs in such areas as pedagogical delivery, academic services, student assessment, and student academic success.
Allied Membership Committee The Allied Membership Committee advises the association on membership policies, including the code of conduct that Allied Members must accept as a condition of membership. The committee oversees the design and delivery of programs related to the recruitment and retention of Allied Members.
Annual Convention Task Force The task force works with professional staff in selecting the theme for the convention and the structure, design, and delivery of the annual convention program.
APSCUPAC Committee The Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities’ Political Action Committee (APSCUPAC) advances APSCU’s mission by engaging our members and the broader sector in supporting candidates for federal office who believe in the role of private sector colleges and universities in fostering the education and professional outcomes of our students.
Audit Committee The Audit Committee, a committee of the APSCU Board of Directors, assists the board in fulfilling its responsibilities and performs specific duties as set forth in its charter.
Awards Task Force The Awards Task Force supports APSCU in the design, development, and delivery of appropriate awards and recognition programs that enhance the reputation and promote the work of the sector.
Communications Committee The Communications Committee supports APSCU in advancing the image and awareness of the sector, specifically in providing students with education and skills that achieve improved jobs, incomes, and quality of life.
Executive Committee The Executive Committee, a committee of the APSCU Board of Directors, assists the board in fulfilling its responsibilities and performs specific duties as set forth in its charter. When it is impractical to convene the board, the Executive Committee may exercise the powers of the board on matters requiring immediate attention, but as a rule it should not set policy.
Federal Legislative Committee The Federal Legislative Committee supports APSCU in advancing public policies that benefit private sector colleges and universities, specifically in the development of policies, legislative proposals, and political strategies on matters before the Congress or the administration affecting our sector.
Federal Regulatory Committee
The Federal Regulatory Committee works with the professional staff of the association and with contracted consultants in developing policies and regulatory proposals on matters before the regulatory agencies.
The Grassroots Committee seeks membership participation and plans initiatives that reach out to policymakers, schools, the media, employers, community organizations, and other external partners to promote APSCU’s message of education for the 21st century workforce.
The Investment/Finance Committee, a committee of the APSCU Board of Directors, assists the board in conducting its fiduciary responsibilities, managing both the development of the annual budget and oversight throughout the year of the association’s finances.
The Litigation Committee works with the professional staff of the association and with outside counsel, as applicable, in determining legal and policy strategies on matters requiring the association to engage in litigation.
The Membership Committee supports APSCU in the recruitment and retention of members, specifically private sector colleges and universities. The committee advises the association on membership policies, including the code of conduct, which members must accept as a condition of membership. The committee also oversees the design and delivery of programs related to the recruitment and retention of members.
The Nominating Committee, a committee of the APSCU Board of Directors, assists the board in recommending nominees for all elected board positions and for the selection of nominees for the public members of the board.
Professional Development Committee
The Professional Development Committee supports APSCU in the recruitment and retention of members by providing high-quality professional development programming that enhances the individual and collective success of member institutions. The committee advises the association on the development and delivery of educational programs for institutional presidents and professional staff in such areas as recruitment and admissions, financial aid, student services, compliance, faculty development, and placement.
Public Policy Steering Committee
The Public Policy Steering Committee manages the overall public policy direction of APSCU's government relations efforts. Through the committee, the board conducts one of the primary responsibilities of the association: managing the design, development, and delivery of our government relations and public policy partnerships to advance the education of our students.
Research Advisory Board
The Research Advisory Board assembles a group of professionals to guide the work of APSCU’s research efforts in ways that best contribute to various APSCU functions and generally facilitate a broader understanding of private sector colleges and universities.
State Affairs Committee
The State Affairs Committee supports APSCU in advancing the public policy interests of private sector colleges and universities. It partners with state associations, member institutions, and other interested parties to address state public policy issues of interest to private sector institutions and students.
PSCUs open doors to many of the 13 million unemployed and 90 million undereducated Americans by providing a skills-based education. To remain competitive over the next decade, we must identify between 8 and 23 million new workers with postsecondary skills.PSCUs are a necessary part of that solution, having produced over 800,000 degrees last year alone.
